In our belief for human capital development in an equal and open society, JIID is dedicated to improving access to governance and decision-making processes to the ordinary citizens by creating avenues to give VOICE to the voiceless. We believe that achieving the goals of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and other development agendas, encompasses a strong civil society and partnerships for development that is citizen’s centred within a human rights framework.
JIID is a capacity development organization, dedicated to building critical human capacity for civil society practitioner, government agencies, private and public cooperation and citizens. Based on our understanding that governance structures across levels are weak, and service delivery is poor whilst citizens active participation public decisions making platforms is dismal, limited only to participating in general election for most, JIID aims to create opportunities for marginalized groups to set development agendas at their own pace.
Understanding that poor governance is clearly detrimental to growth and development of any nation. Using a Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) to development programming, JIID is positioned to support institutions and citizen’s actions that will hold duty bearers accountable and responsible to deliver on public mandates. While strengthening processes and forums for active citizen’s engagement with their leaders across levels. JIID works to expand the rights to development to marginalised groups by mainstreaming youths, women and other vulnerable and marginalized groups in development, governance and peace building processes in order to improve their standards of living and quality of life.
As a sustainable development organization, our core values are participation, inclusion, equality, integrity and accountability.
